2020 BETHESDA UNIVERSITY COVID-19 Updates

Posted: April 03, 2020

Dear Bethesda University Students

We are advised to practice social distancing (stay at least six feet away from other people) and the governor took strong action by issuing a ¡°Stay at Home¡± ordinance for all residents to stay at home through the end of April in an attempt to limit the spread of COVID-19.

We also believe many of you are already self-quarantining at home and only leaving the house for essential services (such as grocery shopping or visiting the pharmacy).

In order to do our part in limiting the spread of COVID-19 in our community, Bethesda will comply with the order and suspend all on-campus operations. The campus access would be locked down at all times and access would be limited to authorized individuals who need to access them for pre-approved work or study. This will be effective until further notice.

As local and state governments continue to respond rapidly to the virus, we continue to adjust our response efforts to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. We appreciate your flexibility and continued commitment these past couple of weeks to care for the health and well-being of our community and neighbors.

Communication with Faculty and Staff

Since our campus has been closed until further notice, all faculty and staff have begun telecommuting from home in accordance with Governor Newsom¡¯s stay at home executive order. The best way to reach them is via email. Faculty and staff are making every effort to respond to emails within 24 hours.
